In particular, this problem has been found in water from Hartebeesport Dam, where the stale water, mainly due to the weed and algae growth, can be challenging to treat. Activated carbon, chlorine oxidation and potassium permanganate oxidation have been tried with little success.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, biofiltration after ozonation can be very effective at a relatively low cost. Large bodies of water, such as Bruma Lake or Capricorn Park in Cape Town, can easily be rejuvenated with a correct application of nanobubbles to oxygenate and energise the water with oxygen.
