What is the SOZ series?
The SOZ series is a range of ozone generators supplied and supported by Biozone, a South African engineering company with 25 years in business. It runs from the compact SOZ 10G to larger models for big water systems.
Ozone is made on site from oxygen and dosed into the water you need to treat. SOZ-series ozone generators supplied by Biozone are used to disinfect water in bottling and rinsing applications across Africa.
There are three levels to choose from:
- Entry range (10G to 60G)
- Next level range (80G to 400G)
- Fully integrated skid: SOZ generators can also be supplied on a fully integrated skid, with the controls and safety add-ons built in.

The fully integrated SOZ skid
For sites that want the generator, controls and safety equipment in one package, a SOZ generator can be supplied on a fully integrated skid. Each skid is put together for the application, and these add-ons can be included:
- Off-gas ozone destructor
- Integrated PLC
- Integrated gas mixing pump
- Integrated Solenoids for SCADA
- Dissolved ozone meter
- Backflow prevention
- ORP meter
- Ambient ozone leak alarm

Ozone disinfects the water used to rinse bottles and the water that goes into them, from rinsing to filling.

At Umbhaba Estates’ banana packhouse near Hectorspruit, a Biozone 60G integrated SOZ Skid is designed to reduce microbial load in the rinse water used for the fruit, supporting rinse-water hygiene in the packhouse.

Real Plastics operates a 40G SOZ ozone generator for its rinsing water and for filling bottled water.

What is the SOZ series?
A range of ozone generators supplied and supported by Biozone. The entry range covers the 10G, 20G, 40G and 60G, and the next level range covers the 80G, 100G, 200G and 400G. SOZ generators can also be supplied on a fully integrated skid with optional add-ons.
Which SOZ model do I need?
It depends on how much water you treat and how it’s used. Tell us about your application and a Biozone engineer will recommend a model. The assessment is free.
Do SOZ generators need an external oxygen supply?
The SOZ’s have a built-in PSA oxygen generator, so it doesn’t need a separate oxygen supply.
Are SOZ generators air-cooled or water-cooled?
The SOZ range from Biozone is air-cooled.
What’s on the integrated skid?
The skid can include an off-gas ozone destructor, a gas–liquid mixing pump, backflow prevention, an ORP meter and an ambient ozone leak alarm. All are optional extras.
Can SOZ generators be used in occupied rooms?
No. For unoccupied spaces or enclosed water treatment systems only. Ozone should not be inhaled.
